Patient Statement Account Types

Account Types gives the medical practice control of the full setup of patient billing statements, and how they want them delivered to the responsible party. The setup can be tricky if a few things aren't done quite right (especially if you had a data conversion), but the account types can be setup easily once you understand how it affects your statements.

Setup of the account types should be completed prior to adding patients to the software, and is a must see for all new offices.

Additionally, you can setup your account type to default charges for each statement generated, and interest charges for oustanding balances on a patients account as well.

The Practice Management Software that we will be demonstrating in comes with 3 defaulted Account Types including Typical Account, Self Pay and No Statement. Most offices additionally add a Medicaid Account Type also.

Account Types are defaulted at the Responsible Party level in the patient demographic screens. All patients tied to that responsible party will be defaulted with the Account Type defaults. Account Types indicate whether you want a statement released on this patient, defaulted statement messages, include or not statement charges, how often you want statements released and would you like to include finance charges or not.
